At this point, we're all looking for something new to watch or at least keep us entertained for an hour or so. How does a Hudson Valley crime podcast sound?

Okay, so it's not a full series but one national platform put the spotlight on a Hudson Valley love triangle-murder-mystery.

I know I'm not alone when I say, I'm a huge fan of the show Dateline on NBC. So much so, that I actually subscribe to their podcast so I can listen to previously aired television episodes in my car while driving back and forth from work.

The story follows the murder of Tom Kolman. Kolman was from Saugerties and was found dead in his car in front of the Kingston Planet Fitness in 2011.

What unraveled after Kolman's death was a messy love triangle between Tom, his wife Linda and their friend and local Saugerties dentist Gilberto Nunez.

During the episode, reporter Andrea Canning speaks to Linda Kolman as well as Tom Kolman's daughter from a previous marriage. Canning also interviews law enforcement officers from the Ulster Police Department and patients and co-workers of Nunez.

As the episode continues we find out that Linda Kolman was having an affair with Nunez and what once was a fling, turned into something more serious.

There's also a part in there about Nunez alleging that he worked for the CIA. The twist in turns in this story are truly insane.

If you lived in the Hudson Valley within the last 11 years you probably know how the story goes.

But for those of you who aren't the episode, The Good Husband is currently available for streaming on Dateline's website and wherever you get your podcasts.

In 2015 Gilberto Nunez was found guilty of second-degree murder. According to, as of September 10th, 2018 Nunez was released on the "basis of merit time."

Nunez served 19 months out of the potential 7-year sentence.
