Christine Rynone Circhio, of New Windsor, loving and devoted wife of Vinny Circhio, entered into rest on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Kaplan Family Hospice Residence, Newburgh. She was 89.

Daughter of the late Patrick and Genevieve Rynone, she was born January 2, 1927 in Geneva, NY. She married Vinny Circhio on January 25, 1976 at the Chapel at West Point. Vinny survives at home.

In addition to her loving husband Vinny, she is survived by her daughter Barbara; grandchildren Adrienne, Samantha and Elise; several great-grandchildren; step-daughter Marjorie Angela Laterza; her sister, Anna Mae Rynone; nieces Jill and Joy; and nephew Jay and his wife Judy. Christine also leaves behind a number of friends that the family would like to express gratitude to for their support and concern during her illness, as well as the staff at Kaplan Family Hospice, who were exceptionally attentive to Christine.

Christine graduated from LaSalle High School in Geneva, NY where she was a cheerleader, and attended the Academy of Business Administration in Rochester, NY. Although hard to imagine because of her meticulous care of her fingernails, she was a great athlete and was a catcher for the town baseball team in Geneva. During World War II Christine worked in the Accounting Departments for the Navy, Air Force, Veteran’s Administration Hospital at Canandaigua, NY, and the V.A. Medical Center at Montrose. During her career she received nothing less than outstanding ratings every year at all these facilities for her exceptional work, as well as a special commendation for her outstanding work in the V.A. Accounting Department.

Christine was a talented and gifted person. She was a wonderful cook, athlete, and dancer; was recognized as a good golfer and was a bowling enthusiast. When she married Vinny they were known to be excellent dancers receiving awards at several affairs. Together they enjoyed the weekly dinners and dances with their loving friends and the comradery they shared at Rita and Santino’s Casa Milanes and Rachel and Rick’s Magnanini’s Winery. Christine never spoke a harsh word of anyone, nor had anyone spoken a harsh word of her. People have always recognized the deep love she and her Vinny shared over their 40 wonderful years together. Never were they apart, and never was there an argument between them. Upon going to sleep each night they would hold hands, say a prayer, and sleep with their hands together. She was truly the motivating factor behind the success of their togetherness.

Visitation will be held from 10-11:30 am on Thursday, November 3 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 pm on Thursday at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, New Windsor. Burial will follow in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, New Windsor.
