For most, May 5th is a day to celebrate Cinco De Mayo with lots of Spanish food and a side of tequila. However, maybe this year we can change things up a bit.

The Department of Environmental Conservation announced that on May 5th this year, they will be celebrating I Love My Park Day.

According to the DEC I Love My Park Day, is an annual event that "brings together thousands of volunteers to celebrate and enhance New York's parks, historic sites, and public lands."

At different locations around New York, like trails, forest preserves, historic sites, there will be events to encourage New Yorkers to help clean up and restore these popular locations.

As we know the Hudson Valley is filled with some great parks and the DEC will be holding I Love My Park events at some on May 5th.
