Bruce D. Pung of Wappingers Falls entered into eternal life on Saturday, December 9, 2017. He was 79.
Son of the late Clement and Olivia Bauer Pung, he was born on July 26, 1938 in St. Johns, Michigan. He married the former Rosalie Sucato in 1965; they celebrated 52 wonderful years of marriage. Mrs. Pung survives at home in Wappingers Falls.
Bruce attended school in St. Johns, Michigan. He went on to attend Ferris School of Technology and graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor degree in engineering. Bruce worked as an electrical engineer for IBM and retired after 30 years of service. He received many awards for excellence and outstanding accomplishments in his field.
Bruce was a true family man. He enjoyed gardening, running, biking and hunting, and was an amazing craftsman. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Wappingers Falls. A loving husband, father and grandfather, Bruce's true joy was his family.
In addition to his wife, Rosalie, he is survived by his children, Linda Shannon, Mary Rondeau and her husband, Louis, and Michael Pung and his wife, Susan; brother, Jim; sisters, Mary and Ruthann; and beloved grandchildren, Richard, Nick, Daniel, Lucas, Jameson and Donovan.
He was predeceased by his brother, Robert.
Family will receive their friends on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls; Father Daniel D'Alliessi will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bruce's name to St. Mary's Church, 11 Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.
