With the recent increase in shootings in our area, the Medical Reserve Corps of Dutchess County is offering free programs to help persons be more aware of what they can do during an active shooter situation.

The training sessions will take place at the Boardman Road Branch of the Poughkeepsie Library on December 14th at 3 and 7pm. The training's are free and open to the public. It is expected that the training sessions will be full and seating is limited. Reservations are required.

  • How should the average person respond to an active shooter in their vicinity?
  • How to protect themselves, depending on the scenario?
  • What should you expect when law enforcement arrives?

To reserve a seat at either one of the above sessioins, contact MRC Coordinator Joe Ryan at jryan@dutchessny.gov or (845) 486-2493. www.dutchessNY.gov
