A boys skull was found by a hiker in Coxsackie.

According to WTEN, a human skull was found back on February 26 by some one hiking in the Vosburgh Swamp Wildlife Management area off Four Mile Point Road in Coxsackie.

Police were alerted to the findings and responded to find a skull partially buried in the woods, which launch a large investigation that included Troopers, Greene County Sheriff Deputies, DEC Environmental Conservation Officers and Forest Rangers.

They searched the area in a grid search way to look for additional bones and evidence that might be related to the skull. The search turned up pieces of clothing that are being tested.

The New York DEC told WTEN that they brought in an anthropologist and showed them a photo of the skull and they said that it belongs to a male boy between the ages of 10 and 13.
