$26M Available To Help With Homeownership in NY
Governor Cuomo last week announced that there is $26 million available to for affordable home ownership through the Affordable Home Ownership Development Program.
The grants are going to be made available to low income homeowners who are in owner occupied homes or owner occupied homes that are for sale. The word home is defined as a single or multi family home, condo, manufactured home and can be new construction.
Here is what Governor Cuomo had to say about the program, from a press release:
"This administration is committed to helping more New Yorkers realize the American Dream of homeownership," Governor Cuomo said. "With this program, we are investing in the future of New York's communities, helping to secure a safer, fairer Empire State for all."
The applications need to be submitted by February 16, 2017. Funds will not be paid directly to the home owner, but through the New York State Homes and Community Renewal's Affordable Housing Corporation.
