Carol Benedetti, 70, of Highland, NY, died Friday, November 24, 2017, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born on February 19, 1947, in Poughkeepsie, NY, she was the daughter of the late Phillips Morton and the late Margaret Morton. Carol was united in marriage to Anthony Benedetti, Jr. on June 21, 1969, at St. Mary’s Church in Wappingers Falls, NY, sharing 48 years of dedicated marriage.

Prior to her recent retirement, Carol enjoyed a long career with IBM as an executive secretary in Armonk and, later, Poughkeepsie. She was an avid reader who became a jury-awarded photographer in retirement. She looked forward each year to a quiet vacation on Cape Cod with Tony.

Carol was a much-loved wife, mother, friend and neighbor. She had boundless love for her family and was very involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Surviving are her beloved husband, Tony Benedetti, Highland, NY, daughter, Theresa Benedetti, Astoria, NY, son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Joanna Benedetti, Victor, NY, grandchildren Catherine, Michael and Matthew Benedetti, and nephews Robert Wenzowitz and Randy Wenzowitz.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Patricia Benedetti, and sister, Joan Wenzowitz.

Friends and neighbors are welcome to celebrate her life at calling hours on Tuesday, Nov. 28, from 5 – 8 p.m. at The Michael Torsone Memorial Funeral Home, Inc. (38 Main Street Highland) and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Nov. 29, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church (55 Main Street Highland), with burial following at Highland Cemetery.
