Just days before he was going to start high school, the body of a missing Hudson Valley teen was found.

Timothy Davis, 13, was last seen at his home in Blooming Grove Friday night. He was seen wearing a white t-shirt, red shorts and flip-flops. He didn't have his cell phone on him went he went missing.

The incoming Washingtonville 9th-grader was found dead near his home on Sunday. The cause of death isn't known as of this writing.

"It is with deep regret that we inform you about a recent loss to our school community. This morning, 9th grade student, Timothy Davis died suddenly," Washingtonville Superintendent Roy Reese said in a message to students and staff. "This loss is sure to raise many emotions, concerns, and questions for our entire school, especially our students.

A crisis intervention team is in place at Taft Elementary School Monday from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. and will be extended if needed, officials say. The team is made up of professionals trained to help with the needs of students, parents and school personnel at difficult times, officials say.

"We are saddened by the loss to our school community and will make every effort to help you and your child," Reese said.

A GoFundMe was started to help his family pay for his funeral.
