A Hudson Valley teen wooed two young girls through Facebook which led to him raping both girls.

In Putnam County Court, 19-year-old Christian Manuel Salazar-Miguel of Brewster was convicted of two-counts of rape and two-counts of disseminating indecent material to a minor.

Salazar-Miguel wooed his underage victims through social media, eventually leading to sexual intercourse, officials say.

An investigation led to a search warrant of Salazar-Miguel’s Facebook and a review of thousands of posts. An exhaustive investigation led to the discovery that Salazar-Miguel used social media to talk with and later rape a 13-year-old and 14-year-old.

In Putnam County Court, Salazar-Miguel was sentenced to four years in prison. He will also be required to register as a sex offender.

“This case is an unfortunate reminder of how dangerous social media can be and how important it is for parents to monitor their kids’ social media use,” Putnam County District Attorney Robert Tendy said. “There are sexual offenders out there grooming our kids to be victims.”

In Nov. of 2016, police discovered nude photos that Salazar-Miguel sent to a 13-year-old girl. At the time, police believed that there were more victims.
