A Hudson Valley man was fatally shot by a customer who's still on the run from police.

On Saturday around 3:15 p.m., the Clarkstown Police Department responded to Youbs Auto Sales on Route 59 in West Nyack. Responding officers found a 37-year-old employee shot in his torso area.

Joseph Youbens of Middletown was shot three times, police say. He rushed to a hospital for emergency surgery but died from his injuries.

Authorities believe Youbens, who worked at Youbs Auto Sales, was shot after an argument with a customer.

The suspect fled the scene in an unknown vehicle and is still on the loose. Police describe the shooter as being a black man with a beard who was wearing glasses and a dark colored baseball hat.

The Clarkstown Police Department would like to hear from anyone who was in the area around the time of the shooting. You can call the police department at 845-639-5800.
