A man was found guilty and faces life in prison in connection with robbing and murdering a Hudson valley resident.

After nine days on trial a Westchester jury found Anthony Grecco, of New Jersey, guilty of robbing and murdering 25-year-old Ryan Ennis, from Ossining. Grecco was also found guilty of conspiring to deal marijuana and heroin.

According to evidence from the trial, Grecco was a marijuana dealer from New Jersey. During the spring of 2014, Ennis began buying weed from Grecco and reselling it in Westchester County. In the summer of 2014, Grecco's marijuana supply ran out and he was desperate for cash.

Grecco setup a meeting with Ennis under the false pretense that he was going to sell him weed. Prosecutors say Grecco intended to rob Ennis and kill him if necessary. It's believed that Grecco wanted to use the money to invest in a New Jersey heroin business.

On August 26, 2014, Grecco showed up at Ennis's father's apartment. Grecco robbed Ennis of $8,900 and stabbed him multiple times and slashed his throat, killing him.

Grecco was found guilty on all five counts including conspiracy to commit Hobbs Act robbery, Hobbs Act robbery, conspiracy to distribute marijuana, conspiracy to distribute heroin and travel act murder.

"Anthony Grecco took a human life, violently murdering Ryan Ennis, for a few thousand dollars. U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara said in a statement after the trial. "A unanimous jury reached a swift verdict, holding Grecco accountable for his callous crime. "

Grecco will be sentenced on May 25th. He faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.
