Vincent P. Lettieri, 81, a resident of Poughquag and Hopewell Junction since 1970, died on March 9, 2017 at MidHudson Regional Hospital. He previously lived in the Bronx.

Born in the Bronx on March 7, 1936, he was the son of the late Primo and Julia Rose (DiMare) Lettieri. Vincent had been employed as a grocery clerk at A & P in Pleasant Valley until his retirement.

An avid outdoorsman, Vincent especially enjoyed racing pigeons and fishing. He liked dancing and playing cards, and starred on “Bowling for Dollars” years ago.

He is survived by his children and their spouses, Kathleen and Richard Goldsmith of Poughkeepsie, Vincent Lettieri and Ellen Manfredo of Beacon, Daniel Lettieri and Vance Yoshida of San Francisco, CA, and Paul Lettieri and Wanda Baez of Poughkeepsie; his grandchildren, Michael and Paul Lettieri of Hyde Park; his siblings and their spouses, Frank and Filomena Lettieri of Riverhead, Ralph and Marie Lettieri of Hopewell Junction, Virginia and Robert Russiello, and John and Johann Lettieri of Wappingers Falls; and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his wife, Joanne Lettieri in 1996, and his son, Michael Lettieri in 1993.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 2-4 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will follow at 4pm at the funeral home. Burial will be private at St. Denis Cemetery.
