Victor Louis Gennodie, 67 of Wappingers Falls passed away on May 15, 2017, at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY after a courageous battle with Leukemia.
Victor is predeceased by his brother, Philip Gennodie and is survived by his sister Francine Butler and her husband Louis of Carmel, NY; his brother James Gennodie and his wife Judy of Palm Coast FL; and his step-brother, David Soons and his wife Janine of Pleasant Valley, NY. He also leaves his sons Kevin Gennodie and his wife Evelyn of Poughkeepsie, NY and Steven Gennodie and his wife Jodi of Danvers, MA. As well as his grandchildren; Cooper Gennodie, Taylor Gennodie, Joseph Martin, Bryn Gennodie, Jacklyn Martin, and Trevor Gennodie along with many nieces and nephews.
He was the owner of Vic Gennodie Excavating and an active community member in Dutchess County. He had a love for cars and motorsports. He raced and customized Jeeps and was the founder of the Dutchess County Four-Wheel Club in the late 1970's. He was also the proud owner of a 1967 Chevy Nova and 1975 Silver Shadow Rolls Royce. Victor had a great passion for animals and leaves behind his beloved cat, Mittens along with the many wild turkeys and rabbits that would visit his yard to be fed each day.
Calling hours will be Sunday, May 21, 2017, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 22, 2017, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow in Wappingers Rural Cemetery, West Main Street in Wappingers Falls.
