Noreen F. Sheils, a Longtime LaGrange Resident, Dies at 79
Noreen F. Sheils, 79, a resident of LaGrange since 1974 and previously from Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn, died on Monday, July 17, 2017 at home.
Born on January 12, 1938 in Brooklyn, Noreen was the daughter of James and Mary (Lovett) Sheils. She was employed as a clerk by Dutchess County Department of Motor Vehicles for 20 years until her retirement in 1997.
Noreen was a member of the Kevin Berry Irish Club, attended many church activities and trips. She was in many senior groups and enjoyed playing Mahjong. She attended church at St. Kateri in LaGrange and St. Joachim in Beacon.
Noreen is survived by her children, James Joseph Ray of Beacon, John A. Ray and his wife Marla of Jupiter, FL, Charles Ray and his wife Aimee of Orlando, FL, and Mary Lane and her husband Christopher of Beacon; her grandchildren, Maura Lane, Austin Ray, Rowan Lane, Gavin Ray and Fallon Ray; her siblings, Dennis Sheils of FL, Charles Sheils and his wife Mary of FL, James Sheils of FL, and Margaret Ryan of FL; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was also predeceased by her sister, Maureen Bowler.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 6-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am at St. Joachim Church, 51 Leonard Street, Beacon followed by interment in St. Joachim Cemetery.
