Mary J. Countryman, 97, of Kingston, passed peacefully Saturday evening, March 25, 2017 at Ivy Lodge, Saugerties, surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 21, 1919 in East Kingston, the daughter of the late Vincenzo "Jim" and Lena Gallo Miuccio.

She was the wife of the late George E. Countryman, Sr.; he passed on February 5, 2007.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In her younger years, with her husband, she enjoyed being a member of the “Left Footers” and go square dancing. For several years, she worked as a home health care provider.

Mary is survived by her son George E. Countryman, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Lake Luzerne, NY, James S. Countryman, Sr. and his wife Toni of Accord, NY, her grandchildren James Countryman Jr., of Rensselaer, NY, Adam Countryman and his wife Kristina of Saugerties and Mary Ann Countryman of NYC, and great grandchildren Ellie and Jackson Countryman. Her siblings Anthony Miuccio of NC, Carmella Manfriedo of Tennessee, Millie Futia of Albany, Ann Malkani of Queensbury, cousins Nancy Fitzsimmons of West Hurley and Rosie Weaver of Latham, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased her siblings Rose Sottile, Frances LaBarbara and Joseph Miuccio,

Entrusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston,

The family will receive their friends on Wednesday from 4 – 7 pm. The celebration of Mary’s life will be on Thursday at 11 am.

Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Kingston.
