Janet C. Mallory, a Newburgh Resident, Dies at 72
Janet C. Mallory entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at her home in Newburgh. The beloved daughter of the late Kenneth and Lucille (Thomas) Mallory, she was born July 31, 1944 in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Janet received her education in Poughkeepsie and Hyde Park School Districts, and participated in the Marching Band. She had a love for elephants and acquired a huge collection over the years. She also loved to cook, sharing her dishes with many. Janet was a loving, caring, spiritual, strong-willed person with a good sense of humor. She will be dearly missed.
Janet is survived by daughter Debra Mallory-Brown, adopted daughter Debra Boone, daughter-in-law Theresa McNair, son-in-law Lascell Brown Sr; brothers David Mallory of Poughkeepsie & James Mallory of Hyde Park, sisters Darlene Mallory of Hyde Park & Gloria Mallory of Newburgh; grandchildren: Shannon Mallory, India & Marcus Brown, Shayna & Adriana Mallory, Jason Williams, Mariah, Jeannette, Maxwell & Mark Mallory Jr; great-grandchidlren: Yatzany, NaJee & Bashir Mallory-Allen, CeCe & Lascell Brown Jr, Tavaris Pickett, Victoria & Valayja Frazier & Janiyah Tomer. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her son Mark Mallory, sister Barbara, brothers Kenneth & Russell Mallory, and grandchildren Janeen & Kyla Mallory.
Visitation & Services will be held Saturday May 6, 2017 from 6 to 7:30 pm at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh.
