Ryan Williams, Chief of Police at SUNY New Paltz called the graffiti "disruptive and expensive to repair and added:

As a public university, we welcome and respect the free expression of ideas, but we will not tolerate damage to state university property. These acts of vandalism will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

The statement explains that facility personnel had worked to clean the sites that were vandalized.

An investigation is still ongoing for that incident.
