Investigators quickly learned that one person had already been transported to a nearby hospital after being shot, while a second victim was also taken to a local hospital for treatment. Sadly, one of the victims, later identified as 46-year-old Carl Chambers of Marlboro, NY, died from his injuries. The second victim, who was not identified, was treated and expected to recover.

The shooting led to a massive multi-agency investigation that remained active for weeks. That investigation has now resulted in the arrest of four local men.
