The weather this week has been great so far and it looks like it will continue into the weekend. That being said there is something you should know if you are a regular at either the Harlem Valley Rail Trail or the Dutchess Rail Trail.

Starting Wednesday and running through Friday morning you should make note that there will be parking lots shutdown near some very popular trails. Dutchess County Parks shared the news via Facebook earlier.

Parking Lot Maintenance Closes Some Rail Trail Parking

So if you plan to head to the Harlem Valley Rail Trail or the Dutchess Rail Trail be sure to check parking. Crews will need to shut down parking lots for restriping. They didn't mention if it will lead to more spots just that it is time to paint the lots again.

The plan is in place and is pretty simple. It should not last more than a day. The crews are reporting that they should have the parking lots affected re-opened by Friday and definitely in time for the weekend.

Why Dutchess County Rail Trail Parking Lots are Closed

Dutchess County Parks posted the information on their Facebook page that the work will be done on Thursdays but they will be closing the affected locations starting on Wednesday late afternoon. If you can plan to ride your bike on the trail avoiding the need to arrive in a car.
