It's always an exciting time when a new business pops up in the area, so I guess this is double exciting because two brand new businesses are now in a plaza that's been pretty empty for quite some time.

One of the most prominent, the recent additions to the Wappinger Plaza on Route 9. Over the past few years this plaza has gone through a pretty big overhaul with the additions of KPot Korean BBQ & Hotpot, Popeyes, and even a new nail salon.

While it has been nice to see this growth in Wappingers and welcome the new businesses to the area, there have also been several closures, including the recent shuttering of the Odyssey Diner in October.

Two New Businesses in Wappingers Strip Mall

This strip mall adjacent to the Hannaford in the Wappingers Plaza has been looking a bit rough lately. After business closures and departures, it's been empty storefronts for some time. Recently though, a Home Property and Tax Service business opened up, offering tax preparation, bookkeeping, notary services and real estate.

Just next door, interior work is being done while new signage indicates that an Indian restaurant called Dosa Grill will soon open. At this time it looks like renovations are still being done, with no additional information about an opening timeline, but we'll provide updates as they become available.
