Little Loaf Bakeshop Prepares For New Paltz Expansion
For those that travel Main Street in New Paltz often, you may have had your eye on this construction project that's been underway for a bit.
Signage recently went up that gave passers-by the info they were looking for, what businesses would eventually occupy this awesome looking building....
Prepare for Little Loaf Bakeshop, New Paltz.
What is Little Loaf?
Locals may be familiar with the name Little Loaf, as they've been serving up their vegan treats locally at the Poughkeepsie Underwear Factory (Thurs-Sat 8am-1pm) and regional farmers markets and festivals for a bit. Perhaps you've tried their treats at TasteNY at Todd Hill in Lagrangeville, at Sweet Maresa's or Blackbird Infoshop & Cafe in Kingston, Lagusta's Luscious in New Paltz, or Tomfillery in Poughkeepsie.
They are a queer woman & trans owned business who 'deliver daily moments of joy and connection through creative, fun, high-quality vegan pastries and other treats.' If you're wondering where they came up with the name Little Loaf, well it is because of their cats:
You know when they have their little front legs under their bodies and they look like loaves of bread? That’s where it comes from. Though, arguably, at least one of our cats has graduated to Big Loaf (our big orange tabby).

Little Loaf Prepares For New Paltz Full Scale Bakery
Moving on up from their 'incubator kitchen' at the Poughkeepsie Underwear Factory, which they've admittingly outgrown, Little Loaf will soon move into their own full scale bakery in New Paltz in the stunning new construction a-frame building on Main Street, with floor to ceiling windows.
Their first brick-and-mortar building, Little Loaf is hoping for a late October/early November opening in New Paltz.
We still can’t believe this is happening! Opening a full-scale bakery has been a long-time dream, and expanding into such a beautiful space is more than we ever imagined. The warm welcome from the New Paltz community has been incredible—we can’t wait for you to meet the team, and to share with you what we love to do (baking deliciousness!)!
