In a twist straight out of a political thriller, Linda Sun, the former deputy chief of staff for New York Governor Kathy Hochul, and her husband, Chris Hu, were arrested today following a July raid on their $4.1 million Long Island mansion.

The arrest comes after the couple's $3 Million home was raided in July

Sun, 41, stands accused of enriching herself and her family by covertly acting as an agent of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

The indictment, spanning a hefty 63 pages, alleges that Sun manipulated her influential role to block representatives from Taiwan from accessing high-level New York State officials and changed messaging on issues involving the CCP to favor Beijing's interests.

The plot thickens with claims that Sun and Hu laundered the proceeds from these activities to fund a lavish lifestyle. Their alleged shopping spree included a $2.1 million condo in Hawaii and luxury vehicles like a 2024 Ferrari.

In addition to acting as an undisclosed foreign agent, Sun is accused of repeatedly violating internal rules and protocols within the governor’s office, effectively transforming it into a mouthpiece for the CCP.

Hu, 40, faces charges of conspiracy to commit bank fraud and misuse of identification, adding another layer to this unfolding drama. The couple’s arraignment is set for Tuesday afternoon in Brooklyn federal court, where they will face a range of charges, including violating the Foreign Agents Registration Act, visa fraud, and money laundering conspiracy.

With these serious accusations, this case could mark a significant political scandal for the Hochul administration. As the details continue to emerge, it’s clear that this is just the beginning of a complex and potentially explosive legal battle.
