One bungalow colony in the Hudson Valley is still very popular and a staple in the community.

There's something really special about the bungalow colonies here in New York. It's a place that time forgot and it's pretty cool to think of all the amazing memories people have made and still make there. A lot of Hudson Valley residents constantly write in Facebook Groups about all the awesome memories from their childhood they have from spending the summers in the Catskills or the Sullivan County area bungalows. Many people met their husbands or wives there, created beautiful family memories, met life-long friends, experienced a much simpler life for some time and some people still own a bungalow in an active community.

If you still want the experience and want to purchase a bungalow, you might want to keep this next place in mind.

There are a few that are still active, but this one I'm talking about is Lansman's Co-Op and Bungalow Colony in Woodbourne, New York. Woodbourne is a hamlet in the Town of Fallsburg and it's located right in Sullivan County.

Lansman's has a lot of offer families like softball/athletic fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, paddleball courts, club house, a day camp for kids, a heated swimming pool, entertainment, laundry services and more. The colony is on 100 acres and there are 85 (one, two, or three) bedroom units that are located on the property. Sounds pretty nice and fun to me.

How did Lansman's Co-Op and Bungalow Colony in Woodbourne, New York get started?

Lansman's Co-Op was started back in 1985, but it was originally founded by the Lansman's family in 1942 as a rental bungalow colony. Can you image all the history this place has seen over the years?

Can you purchase a bungalow at Lansman's still?

Yes, there are some units that are available for purchase and you can click here for more details on it. There's something really humbling about the fact that Lansman's is still going strong and new families can come in and make great memories too. The tradition of staying here continues and we hope the awesome summers continue to go on.
