Parents in New York Urged To Stop Using This Immediately!
Parents and caregivers in New York, take note: a popular brand of baby sound machines has been recalled due to a potential risk of electric shock.
Hatch, a well-known name in the baby products market, has announced the recall of its baby sound machine Rest adaptors after receiving reports of electric shock incidents associated with the devices. The company is urging all parents to immediately stop using the affected products and take steps to address the issue.
The Recall
Hatch has issued a recall for the adaptors of nearly one million Rest 1st Generation machines. The reason behind the recall is a concern that some units of the baby sound machines might come with AC power adapters that could expose adults and children to electric shocks.
Incident Reports
According to the company, there have been 19 consumer reports highlighting the issue, two of which reported minor electrical shocks. Although the number of incidents appears to be relatively small, the potential risk of an electric shock, especially for young children, is concerning. The affected products were sold through various retailers and online channels nationwide.
Safety Measures
To ensure the safety of children and users, the company is urging consumers to take immediate action. Hatch advises all customers to stop using the recalled power adapters and contact the company for a free replacement power adapter.
The recalled power adapters can be identified by the model number CYAP05 050100U. These adapters are characterized by a white rectangular plastic housing designed to plug directly into the wall socket. The model number, amperage ("1.0A"), "Jiangsu Chenyang Electron Co. LTD", and "Made in China" are printed in black near the prongs on the power adapter.
If you're not sure whether your power adapter is affected by the recall, you can send a photo of the power adaptor to Hatch and that will allow them to help you with the necessary steps to receive a new power adapter. For replacement requests, email recall@hatch.co.
