Hudson Valley Gravity Vault Announces Plans to Open This Week
Gravity Vault in Poughkeepsie is an indoor rock climbing gym.
On Tuesday, July 7, 2020, the mid-Hudson Valley region entered phase 4 of New York State's four-phased reopening plan. This includes social gatherings of up to 50 people, low-risk entertainment and recreation, higher education, and TV/film production being able to reopen. To many people's surprise, malls, movie theaters, casinos, and gyms were not able to reopen under phase 4.
But Gravity Vault in Poughkeepsie announced that they will be reopening on Friday, July 10. According to an email sent to customers, the initial reopening will only be available for members, punch passers, and day passers only. This means no staff lead programs will be available. When they reopen, people will only be allowed in the gym with a reservation. Reservations are two hours long and can be booked once per day, up to a week in advance.
The email states that everyone will be required to wear a mask when in the facility and when climbing. For bouldering, it is required that one person on the wall per zone at a time. For top rope, auto-belay, or lead climbing, people must use every other rope station. All fitness equipment is currently unavailable. For more information and to make reservations, you can check out their website.
Back in April 2020, Gravity Vault in Poughkeepsie announced they were having a sale for 25% off memberships.
