A local bed and breakfast's famous pie turndown service has returned for the fall.

Imagine retiring from a long day of apple picking and sightseeing to be greeted with the aroma of a freshly baked pie. That's what visitors of the Caldwell House Bed and Breakfast in Salisbury Mills is offering their guests. Visitors say they'll never look at that mint on their pillow the same way again after booking a "pie on the pillow" stay.

After generating national press and publicity last year, the Caldwell House has decided to offer their unique turndown service once again. Guest are greeted with a warm fruit pie on their pillow at the end of each day of their visit. Freshly baked at the inn, the homemade pies vary each night. Mini pies made from fresh cherries, apples, fudge, pecans, and pumpkins are prepared in-house especially for the bedtime delivery service.

In 2016 the Caldwell House made news for not charging their guests for staying during the leap year. Everyone who was booked at the inn through February 29 wasn't charged for the "extra day." This year's "pie on your pillow" promotion is only being offered through September 30, so you may want to make your reservations soon.
