Free Rabies Vaccination This Weekend

Pet owners, this could be useful!

The Dutchess County Department of Behavioral & Community Health (DBCH) is offering free rabies vaccinations for your pets. The free vaccination clinic will be held this Saturday, August 27th at Milan Town Hall (20 Wilcox Circle) from 8am until noon.

Dutchess County residents can bring their dogs, cats and domestic ferrets 3 months of age or older to get the rabies vaccine. The clinc will be open to all Dutchess County residents for free, but out of county residents will be charged $10. In New York State it is required for all pets to have their rabies vaccine,owners can be fined up to $200 if they don't keep their pets up to date on their vaccinations.

The DBCH is working in partnership with the Dutchess County SPCA to get pets properly vaccinated. If you plan on bringing your pets out on Saturday to recieve their vaccination there are a few rules to be followed including: cats and ferrets must be in carriers and dogs must be on leashes.
