Charles W. Waite, Sr, a Newburgh Resident, Dies at 84

Charles W. Waite, Sr born Nov 12, 1932 to Thomas and Sylvia (Lawrence) Waite.  Charles passed May 8, 2017, at St. Luke's Hospital with his family by his side.  Charles leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Antoinette (Valdina) Waite.

They were married Nov 1, 1953, in Sacred Heart Church. He graduated from NFA, Class of 1950.

He retired from Stauffer Chemical Co and IBM Fishkill.  He was a member of Stauffer bowling league, Black Rock Fish and Game, and the NRA.  He was a member of the YMCA and Golds Gym where he played racquet ball daily.

In addition to his beloved wife, Antoinette, Charles leaves behind his brother, Thomas (Dolores) Waite, of Corinth, NY and his sister, Grace (Cappy) Foster of Newburgh. His children, Charles (Joni), Michael (Nancy), Jacqueline of Newburgh,  David (Frederica)of Aurora, CO, and Steven of Poughkeepsie, and  several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Michael and Gordon, his daughter-in law Doreen and granddaughter, Meghan.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 5-7:30pm on Thursday, May 11 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh, NY.  A Funeral Service will follow at 7:30pm.  In lieu of flowers, family request donations be made to a charity of one's choice.
