Carol Ann Linton, 65, entered into rest at Heritage Valley Sewickley Hospital, in Sewickley, PA, on January 10, 2017. Born in Cornwall, NY, Carol was a resident of Newburgh, NY for 60 years, the daughter of the late Ruth and George Linton of Newburgh. She was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy and Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA.

A former Miss City of Newburgh, Carol enjoyed music, which she studied as an undergraduate. At age 17, she performed the lead role in Purcell's Opera, DIDO and AENEAS, and was a member of several choral groups and bands during her life. Carol's beautiful soprano voice brought joy to all who had opportunity to hear her. As a clothing designer and fabricator, she marketed original pieces in retail shops. Carol also loved to cook and share culinary creations with family and friends. In recent years, she regularly baked treats which were greatly enjoyed for residents of her senior apartment building.

Carol is survived by her brother, David Linton of New York City; sister and brother-in-law, Susan and John Weeks of Sewickley, PA; nephew, Jordan Weeks of Pittsburgh; nephew, Jarrod Weeks and family, Wendy and Carol's great-niece, Mallory of Pittsburgh; Linton Family cousins.

A warm, sensitive, giving person, Carol will be remembered forever and missed deeply.

Visitation will be held at Copeland's Sewickley, 702 Beaver St., on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 4 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 5 p.m.

In Newburgh, NY, memorial service and visitation will be held at the White-Venuto Funeral Home at a later date, to be announced.
