The Velocipede Museum is coming to the Hudson Valley.

For the past 17 years, an impressive collection of bicycles and other man-powered vehicles have been on display in New Castle, Delaware. Now, the entire collection of historic velocipedes is being moved right into our own backyard.

The classic velocipedes, boneshakers, bicycles and tricycles have all moved to Liberty Street in Newburgh and will officially go on display to the public starting this Friday. The bikes dating back to to the 1860s have been added to the extensive collection of powered bikes collected by the Motorcyclepedia Museum.

The museum, located in a former labor union hall, is expected to be a fun destination for bike enthusiasts, history buffs and people who are interested in checking out something you just don't get to see every day.

The Velocipede Museum is located at 109 Liberty Street. On Friday, August 10 a special grand opening celebration will be held from 3pm to 5pm with free admission. After that, the museum will be open daily from 11am to 4pm.
