A Hudson Valley woman is a Food Network champion!

Kim M. Simons of Sullivan County and her team the "Bah Hum Bakers" won the $25,000 prize on the Food Network’s “Holiday Wars.” The competition debuted on Dec. 1 and concluded on Dec. 22.

“It was touch-and-go for the first two rounds,” Simons said in a press release. “We hadn’t jelled as a team and just scraped by. It wasn’t until the third round that we found our stride.”

Simons will split the prize money evenly with fellow "Bah Hum Bakers" Jason Hisley, Robert Nieto, and Bethany Davis.

“Going through the process was nerve-wracking,” Simons said. “It hasn’t even really sunk in that we won! But if I got a call tomorrow, I’d be right back in front of the cameras.”

The Liberty High School graduate has appeared on three previous Food Network shows, including winning “Cake Wars: Star Wars.” In 2013, she was named a Top-Ten Cake Artist in North America by “Dessert Professional” magazine.

Simons was recently praised for her contribution to The Sullivan County Dove Trail in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Woodstock Festival in Bethel.
