It's almost Halloween, and lovers of this scary holiday are looking to find haunted houses, scary scenery, and ghostly gatherings. All that and more is just a quick ride away to Haunted Huguenot Street in New Paltz.

This year's Haunted Huguenot Street tour centers around infection and disease in the colonial period. Eighteenth-century doctors attempted to diagnose and treat these illnesses to the best of their knowledge, but their treatments often caused insurmountable pain, and in the worst cases, fatality. During the 2018 Haunted Huguenot Street tours, you will discover some of the dangerous diseases that plagued the early New Paltz community and witness theatrical demonstrations of the remedies that were used in an attempt to cure them.

Haunted Huguenot Street tours kick off on Friday, Oct. 12, and run every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday through the end of Oct., with a special Sunday date of Oct. 28. For more information, visit the website.
