When you think authentic New York City food what comes to mind?

Most people say pizza or hot dogs, but for me I always think Italian. There's nothing more satisfying than a delicious, hot meal from Little Italy or anywhere in the five boroughs for that matter.

One Italian resturaunt in Mid-town Manhattan is taking things to the extreme.

Apparently, March 9th is National Meatball Day. Which I have no problem celebrating, but not like this.

Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse in mid-town will be serving $100 meatballs for the big occasion.

The specialty meatball is an upgrade from Davio's regular Kobe meatball, which will run you $13 on any other day according to the New York Daily News.

This meatball will be made with wagyu beef and winter truffles. Then it will be stuffed with truffle caciocavallo cheese and foie gras. On top you wont find your regular red sauce or gravy, but you'll enjoy a creamy shallot and champagne sauce. Plus your overly price ball of meat will come paired with a delicious wine.

Juan Tourn, executive chef at Davio’s, told the Daily News "We wanted to utilize some of the finest ingredients available to provide our guests with a decadent and unique tasting experience available for one day only."

If you'd like to save yourself the trip to the city and the $100, head to Stefano's in Wappingers or Fishkill their meatballs are out of this world.
