If you ask most people to tell you what fall smells like chances are you would get similar answers from all of the people you asked. Most would say the smell of the leaves changing. Turns out you can actually smell something different in October that most would refer to as the smell of fall. According to a 2015 article by Odyssey there is an actually scientific reason we smell "Fall" and it is all due to the change in temperature and molecules slowing down.

So what are the other smells of fall? Here in the Hudson Valley we can say apples in the orchards, pumpkins in the patch, cider with cinnamon on the stove and of course the smell of a wood fire wafting from the chimney for the first time in a long time. Whatever it is you smell one thing is for sure the smell of fall means the holiday are far away.
