Let's be honest here, there is no better way to celebrate National Popcorn Day than by eating it. Movie theaters in the Hudson Valley are celebrating by offering a hefty discount on popcorn.

Regal Cinemas is offering 50% off any size popcorn for Friday, Jan. 19 , a.k.a. National Popcorn Day. But this deal is only for today, so if you have a salty craving head out to your nearest Regal Cinemas.

Regal Cinemas has Hudson Valley locations at the South Hills Mall in Poughkeepsie, the Westgate Business Center in Fishkill, on Ulster Avenue in Kingston, The Shops at Nanuet, and New Rochelle.

While I haven't had their popcorn in a really long time, I'm told that Regal Cinemas has the best popcorn of all the movie theaters. If movie popcorn isn't your thing, you can also get some solar popped popcorn right in Ulster County.

I personally think the secret to epic popcorn is lots of butter and lots of salt.
