You might have heard about or seen your friends posting on social media about this thing called a "Spartan Race."

What is it? It is a race, that involves both running and obstacles, but it also is a personal challenge. Did I mention the mud? At some point you will be in the mud. It is not a bad thing, just consider it one of those obstacles that you have to get through to the other side of.

There are three levels of Spartan Race, only you can decide which one is the right one for you.

  • Spartan Sprint, 3+ miles, with 15 plus obstacles. This is for someone who is a beginning athlete or want to find out what Spartan races are all about.
  • Super Spartan, 8+ miles, with 20 plus obstacles. This is a tougher test than the Sprint. You will need to train for this one.
  • Spartan Beast, 12+ miles, 25 plus obstacles. This is the level where you will be testing every limit in your body, physical and mental, and pushing past it. Advance training is a must for this.

Which one are you ready for? Only you can decide. If you are looking to be in your first Spartan race, there will be one at West Point on Saturday August 26, 2017. This particular date and location will have just the Sprint level and the kids race.
