On Tuesday, voters in the Village of Wappingers Falls chose Jason Enson to replace incumbent Jennifer Niznik as 2nd ward Trustee by a vote of 97-63. The voters in the 3rd ward selected Brian Whitten over Yvette Walton in a lopsided vote of 118-34, according to Village Clerk John Karge. There was no incumbent seeking the position.

Whitten told the Hudson Valley Post that he intends to work on infrastructure repair and will seek grant money to pay for repairs to the decaying roads. Whitten also plans to move forward with the plan to dredge the Wappingers Lake.

In the 1st ward Trustee John Chase was re-elected to a two-year term. He faced no challengers for the seat and garnered 33 votes. The trustee position pays $7,440 annually.

Village of Wappingers Falls Mayor Matt Alexander was re-elected without facing a challenge. He received 291 votes for the job that has a two-year term and pays $38,600 annually.
