A man who was wanted in the Hudson Valley was found in possession of a weapon at a local motel.

On Thursday around 9:20 p.m. deputies from the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office noticed 58-year-old William H. Williams of High Falls in a car at the Budget 19 in the Town of Ulster. Authorities knew Williams had an active warrant for his arrest out of another agency and took him into custody, police say.

While placing Williams into custody, he was allegedly found to be in possession of a dagger.

Williams transported to Ulster County Law Enforcement Center and charged with the criminal possession of a weapon, a felony. He was arraigned in the Town of Ulster Justice Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail without bail.
