A famous Hudson Valley painter’s childhood bedroom could be yours, for a night.

Biddingforgood.com is auctioning off a one night stay in Edward Hopper's bedroom in the historic house in which he spent the first 28 years of his life. Hopper moved out of the Nyack home in 1910, but continued to visit his family at the home for the rest of his life.

The house is now an art center and museum that showcases early work by Hopper and other artists. According to the museum’s website, Hopper is widely acknowledged as the most important realist painter of 20th century America.

He also painted this famous painting that you’ve likely seen before.

An interior designer used Hopper’s drawings of his bedroom to transform the room to look as it did when Hopper slept in it. His original full-sized bedframe remains in the room, fitted with a new mattress.

The winning bidder will enjoy a night’s stay at the home, with a guest, on an agreed upon date between Feb.1 and May 31, 2017. The winner will also receive dinner for two at the Hudson House of Nyack and breakfast delivered to the home.

The online auction ends at 10 a.m. on Oct. 15. Currently the minimum bid is $700. Proceeds will benefit arts education in local schools and student studio space at the Edward Hopper House.
