Virginia DeLillo, an Area Resident, Dies at 96

Virginia DeLillo Born March 10th, 1921 passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at the age of 96.

Daughter of the late Peter and Mary Cognata Gucciardo, Virginia is survived her loving family, her daughter, Angela Yozzo and her husband, Anthony; granddaughters Gina Seymour and husband Sean, Melissa Gonseth and husband Bruce; great-grandchildren, Sydney, Jacob, Jack & Brayden; also, many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.  Virginia was predeceased by her husband Nick DeLillo and her 6 brothers and 2 sisters.

Virginia was the matriarch of the family-a woman who loved life! Family was everything to her.  She spent her life nurturing and caring for the people around her always putting herself last.  Saturday night card games and Sunday dinners were always the highlight of her weekend.

The family would like to thank all the staff and friends at Elant @ Fishkill Nursing Home for taking such good care of her with love.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm on Friday, June 2 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Virginia are asked to be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Saturday, June 3 at Sacred Heart Church, Newburgh with burial following in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor.
