Violet Elder, a Wappingers Falls Resident, Dies at 91

Violet Elder, 91, of Wappingers Falls, NY passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018.
Daughter of the late Peter and Mary Sacco, she was born on November 24, 1926 in Butler, Pennsylvania. Violet was one of eleven children. She married Arlie W. Elder on September 1, 1942.
Violet was a homemaker. She thoroughly enjoyed painting and tending to her garden. She loved visiting and keeping in touch with her family and friends. Her wisdom and stories will live on through those who cherished her.
Survivors include two sisters; two brothers; three grandchildren; two step grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Arlie W. Elder on September 2, 1993, and her two sons, Arlie Pete Elder on September 11, 2004 and Jack Wayne Elder on September 21, 2014.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Violet's memory to the Dutchess County SPCA, 636 Violet Avenue, Hyde Park, NY 12538.
