Vincencina “Jennie” Sorbello, 98, peacefully passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at the Pines in Poughkeepsie, NY. The daughter of the late Guiseppe and Rosa Congelosi, she was born in New York City on June 5, 1919. Shortly thereafter the family moved to Rock Tavern to farm. Jennie married Anthony Sorbello on June 8, 1941.

Jennie was a seamstress and a sales person at The Stroock Shop in Newburgh, NY. Nana loved to sew and cook, but most of all she loved to garden and grow the most beautiful flowers.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Vincent Sorbello and his wife Pat, daughter Mary Kirkpatrick; grandchildren, Vincent A. Sorbello and wife Penny, Meghan Mahoney and husband John, Brendan Kirkpatrick and wife Crissy, and Gina Huggins and husband Bret; nine great-grandchildren; and her sister Millie Morales.

In addition to her parents, Jennie was predeceased by her husband Anthony Sorbello on January 23, 1991; her brothers, Peter, Anthony, Gaspar, Andrew and Joseph; her sisters Mary, Rose, and Sally; and sons-in-law Bruce Kirkpatrick and Joseph Conte.

The Family would like to thank her caregivers at the Pines for their loving support.

Visitation will be held from 10:30am to 12:30 pm on Wednesday, February 14 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1pm in Sacred Heart Church., 301 Ann St. Newburgh, NY. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor.
