Update: Arrest Made in Fatal Hit-and-Run in Sullivan County

An arrest has been made in the fatal hit-and-run in Liberty. 
As reported, a father and son were walking in the area of Old Route 17 in Livingston Manor, when they were struck by a light colored pickup truck, which fled the scene.

The father, Gemeal Wallace Sr, 30 was transported to Westchester Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries. His son, 14, was treated for minor injuries and released.

An ensuing investigation identified Ray Salonich as the driver of the 2004 Chevrolet pickup that had struck Wallace and his son.

Salonich was arrested and charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident Resulting in Death, a Class D Felony. He was arraigned in the Town of Rockland Court and remanded to Sullivan County Jail without bail.
