An Ulster County man is accused of driving with a suspended license and a loaded stolen gun.

On Tuesday around 2 a.m., members of the Kingston Police Department stopped a car for a traffic violation. The driver, 30-year-old Anthony P. Davis of Kingston, was driving with a suspended license, police say.

As authorities investigated further, they allegedly discovered that Davis was in possession of a loaded handgun that was reported stolen to Kingston police in July.

Davis was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, felonies, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, misdemeanors, improper U-Turn, unlicensed operator and unlawful possession of marijuana, violations.

Davis was is being held at the Kingston Police Department, pending arraignment.
