3 weeks after money and beer were stolen from a Hudson Valley Not-For-Profit police charged two teenagers in connection with the crime.

According to State Police from Cortlandt, on July 16 around 5:00 a.m., two men forced their way into the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Society, at 155 Highland Avenue in Verplanck.

The two are accused of stealing an undetermined amount of money and several cans of beer from the non-profit Italian American club.

Police say the men were wearing hooded sweatshirts that had distinct patterns. They also had backpack with an elaborate design.

Following a detailed burglary investigation police charged Miguel A. Reyes and Benjaman W. Knowles, both 18, of Verplanck, with 3rd-degree burglary, a felony. Knowles was also charged with a violation for unlawful possession of alcohol by a person under 21 years-old.

Reyes was arraigned in the Town of Cortlandt Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $1,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond.

Knowles was arraigned in the Town of Cortlandt Justice Court and released on his own recognizance.

State Police thanked members of the public who called in tips that furthered their investigation.
