On Dec. 14, an Ulster County grand jury indicted Ricardo Almenteros, Ricoardo E. Almenteros and Edward Pearce on charges related to alleged the possession of 1,292 grams of cocaine found on them during a traffic stop.

The three men were taken into custody on I-87 in Plattekill after they were stopped by New York State Police for a traffic violation. During a probable cause search, troopers discovered 1,292 grams of cocaine packaged in the car's air intake.

The three men have been indicted on charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the first degree for possession of more than 8 ounces of a narcotic drug and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree for the possession of cocaine with the intent to sell.

Ricardo Almenteros is currently on federal probation arising from a prior drug conviction out of Rochester, N.Y.  The other two defendants have no criminal convictions.  Arraignment on the charges was scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 19 in Ulster County Court.
