A shooting at a Halloween party in Newburgh has left two dead.

CBS News reports that several people were shot at a party that started on Saturday night at 119 Broadway in Newburgh. The incident happened at just before 1a.m. on Sunday morning.

Residents say that the building hosted regular parties, but Saturday night's was bigger than usual. There were more cars than usual parked on Broadway with many of the attendees dressed in Halloween costumes.

One of the victims was identified as Omani Free. According to her father the 18-year-old was in her senior year of high school. Omar Free, the girl's father talked to CBS News.

She was just at a party, and the next thing I find out, I get a phone call saying my daughter got shot in the head... I’m devastated right now. It’s hard. She’s my oldest daughter.

Immediately after the shooting the suspect or suspects fled the scene. Victims were being treated at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital early Sunday morning.
