Police investigating the murder of an 83-year-old Hudson Valley woman with family in Dutchess County haven’t found her killer yet, but they have arrested a pair of alleged thieves.

Lois Colley was found beaten to death inside her North Westchester home in November. She was the mother of Millbrook resident Bruce Colley. Bruce gained notoriety after he allegedly had an affair with Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s then wife, Kerry Kennedy. The Kennedy/Colley relationship is believed to be the reason why Cuomo and Kennedy divorced.

State Police say while investigating the murder they discovered 33-year-old Angel H. Parra Penafiel and Hugo Ramirez-Morales, age 33, both of North Salem, had stolen from Colley’s North Salem estate. Police allege the pair sold more than $30,000 worth of hay stolen from Colley’s Windswept Farm. The two men worked on the farm for several years.

Both were charged with 3rd-degree grand larceny, a felony. They were arraigned in Town of North Salem Justice Court and remanded to Westchester County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail/bond. The suspects are scheduled to return to the North Salem Court on January 11th.

Lois Colley was the wife of millionaire Euguene Colley, who earned his fortune operating over 100 McDonald’s franchises in the New York area.
