Do you love it here? Maybe you hate it here. Does that make you sad? Find out where New York ranks among the happiest states in the country.

Just how happy are you in the Hudson Valley? Are you all sunshine, rainbows and cotton candy or are you gravel, darkness and vodka?

According to research from Wallet Hub, we are almost smack dab right in the middle.

New York's happiness rating came in at 22!  We've got to be one of the most diverse and historic states in the Union. How can we be so painfully average? Maybe it's the old "good news, bad news" problem. The good news is that the bars are open until 4 in the morning. The bad news is that a bottle of beer will cost you $6 to $8.
